So here I am again, in Interweave Press's film studio in Loveland, Colorado!
I thought I'd post my photos in black and white, just for fun. Anyway, we had a terrific time shooting an hour-long video for DVD that will be enclosed in an upcoming book. I don't have any more info on that just yet, but all I can say is that it's beautifully photographed (as usual!) and you are going to love it.
Here's video studio manager Garrett Evans and producer Rachel Link, working hard on positioning my jewelry samples in just the right way for the set. They work really well together, behind the camera and throughout the set performing a variety of jobs in a very relaxed but professional manner. It's super easy working with them! We actually filmed the entire DVD within a few hours, from about 9:30 am to 12 pm. Fish tacos followed the shoot (mmmm) and then at 3 pm I returned to the studio for a brief on-camera interview with editor Tricia Waddell.
Here's my editor, Rebecca Campbell, adding her touch to the set. She spent a great deal of time in front of the computer watching the video stream while we taped, which is probably a tedious job but extremely important. If I got my hands outside the frame or made other mistakes, we relied on Rebecca to alert us and watch for continuity issues or any other problems. Although the film crew at Interweave is small, they do a professional job and I am beyond thrilled with the way they managed this production.
Here's a shot of the background set which you may not be able to see very well on the video (I haven't seen the video yet so I'm not sure how the camera was angled). Lovely... and the full-color photography in the book is outstanding.
For those of you who are wondering, the two DVDs that I have now shot for Interweave Press (click here for my previous post) are only available packaged with my books. They are not stand-alone DVDs, but they will beautifully complement my instructional books.
